Unable to retrieve credit report from annualcreditreport.com?

could that mean that I don%26#039;t have any credit? because I doubt that I do. An employer is doing a credit check on me so I just wanted to make sure I wasn%26#039;t in debt from anything. I had readers digest falsely charge me for %26quot;free%26quot; gifts, so the collections went after me..but this was a few years ago when I was 17 yearsold.

Apartment complex crimminal check. How long do they take for those results?

About six years ago my boyfriend was charged with statutory rape (sex with a minor with her consent). We are now renting an apartment they did credit check and we both passed. When we got the credit report back it said PENDING background check. I asked the lady do we get a report of that and she said no its just to make sure your not a crimminal on the run and she laughed. We did all this paper work on Monday. We are due to move in tomorrow. Tomorrow we have to go in sign all the papers. They have not called us from the apartment complex telling us that they found a record. Would they tell this to us tomorrow. Will it even show if it was years ago. Right now we are going to court supposely for not registering as a sex offender on time when he did. If you are wondering who that girl was it was me. I am now 19 soon to be 20 and we are happy together!

Wouldn%26#039;t they have called us already to let us know they found something in his record? How long does it take for results to come back?

Apartment complex crimminal check. How long do they take for those results?

If you didn%26#039;t register it may not come up, but it can. Computers are very fast. The question is whether they submitted the request or not, yet. Bring the actual paperwork showing your name as the %26#039;victim%26#039; and they will likely not have a problem with it since you are now of age. However, ...... six years ago you were 13 and if you have been together all of that time, I don%26#039;t even like to think about it.

Apartment complex crimminal check. How long do they take for those results?

my question is why are you with this man in my experience your life with him will be hard !!

yes you love him but there are men who dont have such problems...rape is a serious charge its onlt going to get worse....

sorry to be negative but I dont think your family would really approve of this man do you ??

Is he really tellin g the truth about his past??

What do I need to have to get a credit card? And the credit companies say I dont exist!?

Ok to explain everything. I want this job, this job runs a credit check and there is no me. I dont have credit or a credit card at all (I%26#039;m 18). But I dont even exist in the system (experian and the other two). I have a bank account and have had at least two other jobs before this, so how is this possible?

So, I%26#039;m going to try and get a credit card, is there anything I need? Like proof of whatever?

What do I need to have to get a credit card? And the credit companies say I dont exist!?

Talk to your bank manager.

What do I need to have to get a credit card? And the credit companies say I dont exist!?

I wouldn%26#039;t get in the habit of using credit, especially since you are young. You can talk with your interviewer and inform them that you don%26#039;t use credit (debt, really).

Since you are young I would encourage you to get in to the habit of using your own money for everything you buy. A credit score is NOT an indication of your wealth or ability to pay. Some millionaires have low credits scores, or scores of 0. This is because they don%26#039;t use debt to buy things, they use their own money. Your FICO credit scrore will eventually go to 0 if you stop using debt. I plan on having mine go to 0 too.

Sure, there are some things you may not be able to do (like get certain jobs, or live at certain places) but it is much better than being broke because of debt.

What do I need to have to get a credit card? And the credit companies say I dont exist!?

Credit cards are an important means of establishing credit history. Using them responsibly, controlling your spending habits and not misusing them will always help the cause. Here are few things to keep in mind before you apply for a credit card.

It is always better to use a credit card which is issued in your name. The simple reason being, it helps establish credit history for you. Use the correct identity, and get credit card issued for proper name, social security number, and address.

Decide what type of credit card you need and don%26#039;t get impulsive about obtaining it. Have patience and compare various offers that suit your choice.

The APR of credit card is a very important point not to be missed by any credit card owner. There are various types of APRs, like the 0 intro APR, regular APR, APR for cash advances, APR for purchases, APR for balance transfer etc. These APR contro what interest you pay on your credit card outstanding balances. Get compelte idea about the APRs that will affect you during your credit card ownership.

If you are getting a reward credit card, make sure you know how the rewards will be redeemed and using the credit card at what locations or merchants will help you get the maximum reward benefits. Another thing to watch out is the limitations to the reward program. Check carefully about what limits the rewards like minimum reward points, blackout dates, redemption locations, choice of airlines etc.

How does everyone have better credit than me but no one has a clue how they got it?

1. How many times is too many times? Once a month? Twice a year?

2. How many points does each credit check take off?

3. How do you extend your credit limit on a credit card? Do you just wait for it to automatically go up or do you have to call the company and request it?

4. If you have the answers to these questions, how and where did you get them? No one seems to have a clue and always giving me answers that never make sense.

How does everyone have better credit than me but no one has a clue how they got it?

Answers to your questions:

1. I%26#039;m assuming you%26#039;re talking about how often you should check your credit. I would say at leat every 6 months. Checking your own credit will not lower your score.

If you suspect you%26#039;re at risk for identity theft, you%26#039;ll want to check it more often.

If you are planning to buy a home or car, you%26#039;ll want to keep a close eye on it, as well.

2. I%26#039;ve heard conflicting advice on that. I%26#039;ve heard 2 points each time. But I don%26#039;t think that%26#039;s correct. If you%26#039;re applying for credit left and right, you%26#039;re going to look like you%26#039;re desperate. Lenders don%26#039;t want to see a bunch of inquiries on your credit report.

3. Call the credit card company and ask. If you have been a good customer they may be willing to raise your limits.

4. Where did I get these answers? I%26#039;m a mortgage loan officer. I specialize in loans for people with credit problems. I don%26#039;t like just turning people down and telling them to have a nice life. So, I decided to educate myself about credit. That way instead of just telling my clients that I can%26#039;t approve them, I can tell them what they need to do to improve their credit, so I can approve them in the future. I%26#039;ve read tons of books, articles, etc. Plus, I%26#039;ve been through it myself. My credit was pretty bad at one point.

I%26#039;ve also written a few articles about credit scoring that you may find helpful:

How does everyone have better credit than me but no one has a clue how they got it?

pay all bills on time you will get credit sooner or later

How does everyone have better credit than me but no one has a clue how they got it?

Your FICO score is based upon your credit history, plus how much available credit you have. Having too much available credit will ding your score, but unfortunately I don%26#039;t know how much is too much.

You can check your credit report once a year for free. Anymore than that and the credit agencies will charge you. Credit checks will take a few points off your score, but again I don%26#039;t know how much.

I think if you did some research on one of the major credit agency websites you could get specific answers to your questions. I think there is a website called myfico.com where you can order your score plus find out some valuable information.

I have a credit score around 800 - I have never paid a bill late (that will really ding your score, even if you%26#039;ve only done it once or twice). And I%26#039;ve had a wide variety of credit like student loans, car loans, mortgage and revolving credit cards. Since I%26#039;ve paid them alll on time, my score is high.

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

I would like to request a copy of my credit report from one of the credit reporting companys to see my score. Does it affect my credit the same as it would if a lendor ran a credit check?

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

No. Only multiple applications for a credit line in a short time will affect your score.

While it is true that you are entitled to one free credit report from each of the 3 bureaus (Trans Union, Equifax, Experian) every 12 months, your credit report does not list your credit SCORE.

To obtain your score, you will be required to pay a small fee (usually less than $10). Be advised that credit scores are not fixed and change fairly regularly depending on how much you use and pay off credit like cards and/or loans. It is worth the price to determine if you haven%26#039;t checked your score in the last year.

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

No.

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

Absolutely not

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

no. do it online its free

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

You are intitled to one per year.

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

No.

You can get all three free (once a year) at

www.annualcreditreport.com

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

nope.

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

No, absolutely not. You are allowed 1 per year.

Typically, this is used as a %26quot;scare-tactic%26quot; to ensure that you don%26#039;t go to another vendor.

Go online, they have numerous sites that offer free credit reports.

Does asking for a copy of your credit report affect your FICO score?

If you go through one of the three reporting credit agencies, it will not negatively affect your FICO score. However, if you go through a broker, bank, or any other financial institution then it is an inquiry. However, having one or two inquiries most likely will not lower your score. Excessive inquires can lower your credit score.

The earlier comment of that you receive one per year is in reference to a free credit report. However, these free reports do not show your credit scores.

On an application to rent a house it wants "credit references." What do I list?

I%26#039;m assuming they want credit accounts listed, but which ones? There are only three spaces and I have plenty more than that. Do I try and list the ones that I have always been on time with payments? Or the credit cards with zero balances? Or loans through my credit union? My student loans? What would be the best to help us be accept to rent this home?

Or do they want something completely different there?

Also, aren%26#039;t they going to run a credit check anyway? Why do I need to list %26quot;credit references%26quot; if they are just going to verify it?

On an application to rent a house it wants %26quot;credit references.%26quot; What do I list?

Your second paragraph speaks to the point that they%26#039;re going to check your credit anyway - so you%26#039;re right in thinking the credit references on the application are more a formality than anything. I%26#039;d recommend you list things for which you are currently indebted, such as car loans, student loans, and the like - and for which you are on time.

At least as important to a potential landlord or property manager in my opinion are good prior rental references. The combination of timely payment on your credit obligations and favorable references from folks who have rented to you and can vouch for you first-hand are an unbeatable combination.

What happens to my business credit report after closing my business?

I went out of business 3 years ago, however I still use 2 of my American Express Business cards that still have my old business name on them.

I recently tried to get a business credit check and it does not exist? Those cards also do not show up on my personal credit reports.

What happend to my business credit worthiness...does it exist and where?

What happens to my business credit report after closing my business?

Most business credit cards, are in the business name, but guaranteed by you personally. If you are late or default, it will magically appear on your personal credit. (you cosigned for your business)

So, they do not show up on your personal credit report if they are kept current.

Business credit is a whole different animal. Most small businesses have zero business credit. Most small business credit is issued with personal guarantees.

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

I am sure those who have all of the three use the, but I want to know which one do you use most of, (or in order of most use). I have all three, but mostly never carry cash, so for me it閳ユ獨:

1st choice = Credit

2nd choice = Cash

Last choice = Check

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

cash

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

i always use my credit card, then transfer the money immediately to pay for it. i use checks to pay my bills.i almost never have cash.

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

i use debit mostly

but it depends how much the purchase comes to for the other 3 choices

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

Credit because its easier to keep up with and its always ther when you need it.

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

Credit

Cash

Never cheque

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

1 = Credit Card - Discover (because I get cashback bonus)

2 = Cash

3 = Checks (too much of a pain!)

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

4.debit card

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

no choices cus i havent any money

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

I use cash, then credit, never checks

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

Credit card first because you only have to write one check at the end of the month. Besides the credit card accumulates a cash reward that is %26quot;FREE MONEY%26quot; provided you pay off entire balance each month. Also use a card that has no annual fee. The whole idea is to use somebody else%26#039;s money the same as the banks do to you when paying a very skimpy interest rate.

Cash is next for small purchases that you wouldn%26#039;t write a check or use a card for

Finally checks

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

for minor purchases= cash

for major ones = credit cards

i pay for credit cards in cash...i never use checks...

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

I never carry cash with me. I always use credit/debit cards. By the way, what is a check? :)

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

NEVER checks. I use my debit card for everything besides bills. For bills I use bill pay.

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

credit and cash every once in a while, I dont have a check book, have not had one in my life

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

Credit for everything and anything, bills, milk, gas, lunch. WHY? I get a statement each month that shows me EXACTLY where my money is going.

I carry small amounts of cash for ice cream.

Checks?...I have the same checks the bank ordered for me in 2002.

Cheers

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

My check card has a Visa symbol on it, is that credit? I use it first, then cash, checks are the last resort.

Which do you use most often: cash, credit, or checks?

Same order for me. If I can put something on a credit card, I do it. I always pay it off every month. But I find it%26#039;s easier to track my expenses and set a budget when I use credit cards. I use cash only when it%26#039;s more convenient, like in a bar, or for a small restaurant check.

As for checks, I don%26#039;t write any on a regular basis any longer. All my utilities, mortgage, and other bills are direct debit or go on my credit card. Tis a wonderfully convenient world we live in! :)

Checking credit report verification...?

When I was checking my credit report, it says that I took out a mortgage in February of 2002 and asks for some information about it in order to verify that it is my report.

Problem is, I have never taken out a mortgage...ever. Is it possible that this is a trick question as on all of the questions there is a none of the above response? Has anyone else heard of or had this problem?

Checking credit report verification...?

Yes it could be a trick question. If you don%26#039;t have one don%26#039;t aswer as yes. I got mine check out and it asked questions like that, I believe if somebody is trying to access it and they are not you they won%26#039;t know the answer. So is more like to protect you. However they should be some questions that do apply to you. I had a question asking what company I have for a loan I took, and it mentioned like three different companies, one was mine and I clicked then it ask how much per month do I pay. These are personal questions. Once u open the credit report u will see what is there and if something is not then u need to contact the credit companys for possibly frau*d. i hope this is not the case for you. HTH

Checking credit report verification...?

If you%26#039;re just answering the brief questionaire in order to actually see your credit report, yes, this could be very normal. Check none of the above and be sure not to type in any personal information if you don%26#039;t feel right about it or don%26#039;t trust the site. (You can always see your report without your score for free at annualcreditreport.com, by law)

Checking credit report verification...?

It is a trick question. Answer it truthfully. How else are they going to know if it is you? I got the same question while I was trying to check my report. It is just so they can throw off somebody who wouldn%26#039;t necessarily know if you had a loan or not.

Checking credit report verification...?

It%26#039;s entirely possible that they have the wrong information listed on your credit report and in fact are reporting that you do have a mortgage. It happened to us.

We pulled my husband%26#039;s report and they had him owing back child support(he had no children) and also showed several charged off accounts that were not his. They even had a defaulted mortgage listed when he had never owned a house.

Equifax had merged someone elses account information on his credit report. The other person had a very similar social security number. We disputed the information and Equifax promptly removed all but one of the charged off accounts. We had to fight the company to get that account removed, but did eventually get it taken off.

Perhaps you could check one of the other credit agencies first if you want to do an online check. Maybe try to pull the report again and they might ask you a different question this time? You may end up having to order your report by mail. By all means, check it out. You will probably find errors that need to be changed. Good luck!

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he's not even on it?

we have been divorced over 12 yrs this is a card i got on my own and one day he showed up on it so i contacted the credit card place they said he%26#039;s not on it but it%26#039;s showing up on his credit check how can i resolve this

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

Best bet is to get the credit card company to correct the error. They reported the information to the credit bureau, it is much easier for them to correct it.

If they will not help, your ex needs to contact the credit bureau and complain about it appearing on his report. They will investigate and update as appropriate.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

contact the credit agency where this occur and dispute it...most likely they will remove it.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

do contact the company again .,.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

contact whatever credit bureau it is showing up with and explain the situation and ask them to resolve it.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

call credit card company back an ask for written, dated proof that he is not on it, then you will not be responsible for any of his charges if in fact he is on it, it may be possible for you to also charge him with fraud if he is on it, good luck to you .

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

you each need to contact the credit agency and file a claim to correct the information. in most cases, they can take care of that sort of thing in a matter of days. i have disputed several items on my own report... it is great that you are keeping a close eye on that stuff, too! good catch and i am sure contacting the credit agency who produced the report will be sufficient. also, be prepared to produce past credit card statements showing that he wasn%26#039;t on it and never used the card... failing all else, simply cancel the card and get a new one! :) you may need to make sure that his info isn%26#039;t still connected to you in your credit history... by law the credit agencies are supposed to help you out with that stuff... give them a chance to do it.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

Write a formal letter to the credit agency disputing the charge. Send it certified, return-receipt requested and save your receipts. In the letter, list that you have contacted the credit card and they agree that your ex is not on the card nor is he responsible, then list their phone number and address so that the bureau can reach them to verify.

After all of this, you should receive a letter in the mail showing that it has been removed on your credit. If you haven%26#039;t heard back in 6 weeks, do the letter again and send copies of the first letter too. Again, send it certified and return-receipt requested.

It takes stick-to-it-ness, but it works.

Also: Credit bureaus often want to confirm your identity in the letter. Each has different requirements. Some have fees involved.

Some want driver%26#039;s license numbers and a copy of a recent bill proving you%26#039;re at that address.

You can find the requirements in the below addresses. Sometimes you can even file your dispute online.

It takes some digging in their websites, but the information is there.

http://www.equifax.com/

https://www.csccredit.com/www/csccs.nsf (these guys handle some of the equifax disputes depending on where you live.)

If it is showing up on your ex%26#039;s credit reports, then he%26#039;s the one that will have to do all of the above steps. Give him the credit card%26#039;s contact numbers and let him know what%26#039;s involved. It%26#039;s his report that is messed up, then it%26#039;s his responsibility to fix it, you have no way of accessing his private records in that manner.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

Send the credit card and the reporting agency a copy of your divorce decree.

No credit card company wants to give credit to someone if they know they are not entitled to it. Reason: they can%26#039;t collect money or interest or penalties. They lose money. He will be off promptly.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

I don%26#039;t think it will do any good to file a dispute with the credit reporting agency regarding someone else%26#039;s report. Your husband will have to do that.

What you need to do is contact your credit card company and make them do it.

If your husband won%26#039;t contact the CRA and file a dispute, I%26#039;m not sure how to proceed. Never had to deal with this before. Usually it%26#039;s someone else%26#039;s item on YOUR report, and that%26#039;s easy to fix.

How do i get my credit card off my ex-husbands credit report.he%26#039;s not even on it?

write to them, explaining that he is not reasonable for this bill, that he is not a card holder at the time. look at your divorce degree to make sure he was not ordered to pay it

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

i%26#039;m going to rent an apartment and they%26#039;re going to do credit check...i haven%26#039;t seen mine in awhile and i%26#039;d like to get a look at it before hand.

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

Some of these answers are not correct.. A FICO is determined by a number of things - for instance if you have your credit pulled by numerous %26quot;similar%26quot; agencies (like a bunch of automobile shops, or a bunch of mortgage companies) it will hit you far less b/c they consider you as a %26quot;shopper%26quot;. 1-2 pulls will have no effect on your credit within 90 days.

Any more pulls other than 2 within a 90 day window will affect your credit slightly, but it is barely noticeable. I work as a credit counsellor and am very familiar with this.

Also take note that correcting your address and work history as 1 address and 1 job within the past 12 years can typically boost your scores approximately 10-22 points.

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

You are alloted a certain amount of credit pulls before it starts affecting the score. Usually its after 6 hits in an 12 month period. You can go to MyFICO.com and that may have an exact answer. Its ok to have your credit pulled, just do get carried away.

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

Each time someone get your score few points are deducted, it%26#039;s not a big deal, so it won%26#039;t change anything just don%26#039;t do that every month.

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

Pulling your own credit report does not affect your scores or count as an inquiry. Go to annualcreditreport.com- pull all 3 bureaus free once per year. It does cost if you want your score though.

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

Not much affect if you pull your credit once a year. It maybe good idea for you to get a credit report.

If i get a credit report does it change my rating in any way?

You can get a free copy of your credit report each year. Usually they do not contain the score unless you pay for it.

Will wachovia credit my account the next day for a 900 check?

It will look that way. They assume the check is good unless/until they hear otherwise.

If it comes back as bad and you have relied on it for your checks or debit purchases or electronic payments, then the cascading insufficient funds fees are really going to hammer you. Be really careful about that. Establish a reserve in your checking account so that you never have to worry about it!

Good luck!

Will wachovia credit my account the next day for a 900 check?

I think you get $100 the day you deposit and $800 five days later after they verify the check is good

Will wachovia credit my account the next day for a 900 check?

Is it going to a credit card or a checking account?

Credit card - If you%26#039;re mailing the check, no. It takes several days for them to receive %26amp; process it. If you%26#039;re paying online, probably not. My experience is that it still takes 2-3 days to show on your account.

I%26#039;d call them %26amp; ask to be sure.

Whom do I report to take a legal action against a credit bureau?

I am having trouble with the Equifax Credit Bureau. They are not updating my current address on my credit file though I applied for credit from my new address which eventually changed the address on my credit file in Experian and Transunion.I also have faxed them a proof of my current address with a copy of my photo ID and also a letter clearly requesting them to update my address.I am having a lot problem lately for renting a car or leasing an apartment and almost everything that involves a credit check and every commercial organization request a credit report from Equifax which in my case they are not able to get because of the outdated address on my file.

Whom do I report to take a legal action against a credit bureau?

I would have a lawyer write a letter to the credit bureau. I be that would help.

Whom do I report to take a legal action against a credit bureau?

Try this -

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menu-credit.htm

It is the Federal Trade Commission...I think you can file a complaint with them...

Whom do I report to take a legal action against a credit bureau?

If it has been longer than 35 days (if you are using a paid report) -or longer than 50 days (if you used the free FACT-Act reports), since you have done your personal information dispute with Eq. then I agree with Michael, file a complaint with the FTC. Also file a complaint with your states attorney general.

The times that I listed are the legal time periods for the credit bureaus to handle any disputes etc on your reports. So if it has not been that long since you tried to update your personal info, wait until it is before you file complaints.

But, it doesn%26#039;t stop with just filing the complaints. The FTC usually doesn%26#039;t do much unless they have a bunch of complaints. Even though they usually don%26#039;t do much, just filing the complaints gets things done.

After you file your complaints, send Equifax copies of the complaints you had filed and demand that they update your info.

The bureaus usually comply with requests after you show them you had made those complaints.

Whom do I report to take a legal action against a credit bureau?

Federal Trade Commission - www.ftc.gov

When you mail the credit bureaus letters, make sure they are return receipts, otherwise, you never mailed a letter.

You can go to Equifax online and update your address.

Whom do I report to take a legal action against a credit bureau?

I hate to be honest, but your credit file is based on information received from credit applications you authorize.

You cannot be denied credit due to a address listed incorrectly. Your credit report gives a warning that %26quot;current address does not match address in file%26quot;. You may have a CREDIT ALERT %26quot;started by the 3 CBC, that requires the people who run your credit verify you are the person you say you are.

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

don%26#039;t think so, unless ordered by a court.

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

I know government type of checks can%26#039;t be garnished.

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

no but seek kegal aide with that

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

No they cannot

our most important exemptions include:

* Necessary clothing

* Income from Social Security, unemployment compensation, public assistance, veteran%26#039;s benefits, disability benefits and private pensions

* Alimony and child support payments

* Take home pay up to $292.50 per week after all state and federal taxes have been taken out

* $15,000 worth of equity on the home you live in (including a mobile home or condominium). %26quot;Equity%26quot; is the amount that something is worth in its current condition (what you could sell it for) minus what you owe on it. So if you own a $50,000 home with a $45,000 mortgage, you have only $5,000 worth of equity. Your creditor can%26#039;t take it;

* A motor vehicle (car, truck, van, etc.) in which you have $2,400 worth of equity or less. If you own a car worth $10, 000, but you owe $9,000 on it, you have less than $1,200 worth of equity and your creditor can%26#039;t take it. You can also %26quot;stack%26quot; on the $4,000 %26quot;other personal property%26quot; exemption (see last item in this list) to allow you to protect a motor vehicle in which your equity is as high as $5,200;

* Tools of your trade which are not worth more than $1,500 total

* $4,000 worth of any other property. You have the right to choose the property. It could be a bank account, a tax refund, household furniture and furnishings jewelry, anything or any combination of things as long as the total value is not more than $4,000.

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

I would say no!

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

It%26#039;s a Bush Administration, I wouldn%26#039;t put it past them.

Can a credit card company garnish wages from a federal disability check?

No they cannot garnish your SSDI no matter what state you live in.

Be very careful because even if your SSDI is exempt, and you have it in a bank account, they may try to grab it (even though it is illegal). If they do, you can get it back but it will take time.

If you have it in a bank account that you deposit other funds into, say your spouses check, a birthday check from your great aunt Ruth etc., that leaves the door open for them to garnish your bank account.

So, unless you have an account that is only used for your SSDI checks, I would suggest closing that account. Then either open another account or just deal in cash.

As far as your other exemptions, you need to read your state statutes to see what is exempt in your state. Exemptions vary by state.

HOW DO SECURED CREDIT CARDS work?

i have a debit card with over $1000 on it but i cant find a car rental agency that will accept without giving 2 more forms of id that i dont have or with them doing a credit check that will turn out so that i wont be able to rent

so im thinking the next bext thing would be a secured credit card..

i love my debit card because i can add funds to it anytime i like with nothing but a trip to the bank.. but with the secured card can you do the same thing?.. when i wanna add money to the card can i just make a deposit on it like i can with my debit card.. and what if i get a secured card fom a bank thats not local how do you make the deposit then like Capitol One?

im actually looking for a secured card with a local bank so i wont have that problem like Bank of America.. but im not sure i can even load money on the card anytime i want like i can with my debit

HOW DO SECURED CREDIT CARDS work?

A secured credit card requires that you deposit money with the issuing bank, and the bank will issue a credit card in the same amount for your use. Secured cards are guaranteed to be approved, because the bank has your deposit money in case you do not pay your balance. A secured credit card for bad credit operates much like a regular credit card. You receive a monthly statement, and you pay your minimum monthly payment or the balance in full each month. You are charged an interest rate, annual fee and possibly other fees for a secured credit card account.

Be aware that with a secured credit card for bad credit, your charges are not deducted from the deposit you have with the issuing bank. The bank is simply holding your deposit in the case that you default on your credit card balance. You must pay your monthly payments, and owe the bank the balance that you have charged on the credit card. You cannot refuse to pay simply because the bank is holding a deposit without further damaging your credit. Read more from: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/secur...

HOW DO SECURED CREDIT CARDS work?

Secured credit cards DO NOT work that way. You have a set amount you have to give them, say $500. This will be your limit but instead of being able to just put the money back in when you use the card, you have to pay interest on your own money. then, you have to be prepared to pay annual fees and other nonsense charges on your own money. Oh, and you would have payments to them that you could probably be able to pay on line or mail to them. I dont think you can put more money in to raise how much you can spend on it either. Hope this helps.

HOW DO SECURED CREDIT CARDS work?

Ok this is how they work.

(No offence Katrina but I am a professional in the field)

You go to your bank, and open a savings account with a secured credit card on it.

It is the money in the savings account that secures the credit, so that if you default the money is there to cover it.

Keep a limit on your transactions. At first (before you rent a car) but small items ( tank of gas) and pay it off without closing. If you have the money to rent the car in cash, then rent the car on your card, and pay it off in full when you are done using the car. The whole idea is not to have more then 10% balance to your limit by the billing period.

This is how you establish credit. Because it goes on your credit report, this will help you later.

In teaching people how to esblish and maintain credit, I teach them to have 3 trade lines (credit cards, student loans, car loans etc) and to keep the balances down. Over pay on your account every time, this will boost your scores.

In your case, take out 3 savings account at $500 each. Use one for utilites (pay off by end of month) one for car rentals and one for daily expenses. If you maintain a 10% balance for 6 months, then they will consider removing the secure end, or raising your limits. NEVER AT ANY TIME CARRY A BALANCE OVER 10%!

Credit problem NCO/Fin ? Need more info?

I was using that free credit check and it said I had a NCO FIn/27 of about 100 dollars. The quesiton I have is how do I

a) Find out what the debt was for

b) How to get into touch with them?

I tried to google it and i%26#039;ve only found sites that complain about how agressive they are. I%26#039;ve never even heard of them or from them so I%26quot;m not sure where to start.

Anyone know what or who they are and what can I do?

Credit problem NCO/Fin ? Need more info?

Here%26#039;s there contact information:

But before you contact them, what you should do is send them a debt verification letter. I posted a link that explains this more in detail.

This will help you and give you an idea on

1. Whether the debt you owe is even yours.

2. And how to approach it.

Credit problem NCO/Fin ? Need more info?

1. All collection agencies are aggressive. You would be too if someone owed you money for years. Youll never read an article saying %26quot;so and so called me and was really nice about asking me to pay them something ive owed for 3 years%26quot;...which explains the amount of complaints...Collections is not customer service. Now....

NCO is a collection agency, and a reputable one at that, they collect on all sorts of debt. 100 bucks? Might be an old utility bill.

Offer them 70 bucks. Get a settlement offer in writing. Ask them if they%26#039;d be willing to offer you a deletion. chances are if they are working contengency (placement paper) they wont delete, and youll have pay them, but ask the original creditor for a delition, which in more chances than not, get rejected. If they purchased the debt, and own it, Im sure they%26#039;d be willing to offer a deletion.

Employment with bad credit?

Some companies run a credit check on prospective employees. If someone has a debt consolidation on their credit history will this be a reason to not get the job? I meet and exceed the job requirements?

Employment with bad credit?

i do not think a persons credit should matter about you as a employee.. but i guess it will depend on the kind of work you are seeking...it may though cause i got a credit report in the mail the other day and all i am trying to do is get low income housing... i really do not have credit at all...so i do not know what to think of it anyway...hopefully though you will get the job,,, in my opinion you should.. if you exceed there requirements, that should make a good impression right there..

Employment with bad credit?

Debt consolidation will generally not rule you out, but a negative credit score overall will.

Employment with bad credit?

I assume that the credit check is run to see if there are any concerns about how you will handle money. If you apply for a job where a credit check is done, you may want to be upfront about the information that will come up. A debt consolidation at least shows that you are honorably trying to pay off your debts.

Employment with bad credit?

Bad credit hurts you the most if you are going to be working in a bank or some other financial institution or around money in general. If money doesn%26#039;t relate to the job you are applying for, you should be fine.

Employment with bad credit?

getting out of debt is pretty easy with a debt consolidation plan

however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get as much information as possible online on this first,

a good place to start in my humble opinion is:

a couple of years ago I took an debt consolidation plan, however I made some errors, luckily for you they are all tackled in this article.

good luck

Why do some jobs ask for a credit history?

so while filling out some online applications it states that there will be a background check(like usual) and credit check. now, the latter is the part i dont get and frankly dont care too much for. if i am asked for a credit history in person( which i havent yet) can i pursue any legal actions if i deny the request and they in turn deny me? any help would be great. thanks.

Why do some jobs ask for a credit history?

no one has to hire you or give you a reason why they didn%26#039;t.

credit checks are done to see how responsible you are with finances and if you have any credit issues that could compromise your ability to do a job. this is very prevalent in any job that deals with money (cash, checks, sales, accounts payable, accounts receivable et-cetra). if you refuse to allow a credit or background check they simply do not have to consider you for employment. if a background check or credit check is used as the reason to deny you employment you do have the right to get a copy of the report and to have any errors corrected. mistakes can happen and the companies that do theses checks as well as credit reporting agencies have the system in place for you to have errors corrected.

Why do some jobs ask for a credit history?

You have no recourse...either you agree or they will not consider you for the job...... Employers have found that those with good credit are more responsible and less likely to steal

Why do some jobs ask for a credit history?

Generally, responsible people are responsible workers and if you have major issues you might be incline to steal from them

if you refuse they would probably wonder what you are hiding.

I have no credit but need a student loan?

I am paying for school on my own, so my parents will no co-sign a loan for me, and i do not have credit. Is there any where that will give me a loan? I was unable to pay for school last year, so I am trying to get a loan to pay for last semester and this year. Like I said, my parents are not helping me, so a company that does not do a credit check, or need a co-signer would be great.

Thanks!

I have no credit but need a student loan?

Follow the steps above and you will be fine. Remember that your credit score has very little to do with whether or not you get a school loan. They are more concerned with your family%26#039;s expected contribution and how much money you make. That is why you fill out the FAFSA, so they can determine how much you are eligible for. Good luck!

I have no credit but need a student loan?

Here are the steps you need to take:

1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here:

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don%26#039;t need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here:

http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/stud...

3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here:

http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/stud...

4) You can also try to get a grant or scholarship, which is free money that you won%26#039;t have to pay back. You can read about them here:

Is my credit card number on the back of my cancelled check? The complete number?

if you wrote the credit card number on the back/front then there is your answer

Is my credit card number on the back of my cancelled check? The complete number?

Daniel B%26#039;s answer is a flat out lie. The only way your account number is recorded anywhere on the check is if YOU put it there. I have personally worked in every stage of check processing. We don%26#039;t have time to record ANY numbers that are not already on the check. Report It

Is my credit card number on the back of my cancelled check? The complete number?

I highly doubt it. That would be a security risk.

Is my credit card number on the back of my cancelled check? The complete number?

Some banks do. I work at Bank of America and I see it all the time. However as long as someone doesn%26#039;t have the expiration date you are fine since you need it to do a CC transaction. The account number is just one piece of the pie.

BTW by working in the world of banking I can tell you there is NO way to prevent identity theft. It%26#039;s like alot of things in life it either happens or doesn%26#039;t.

Don%26#039;t let paranoia control your life.

What does a background check usually entail?

A client I%26#039;m supposed to start with next week said

they are going to run a background check on me as a

formality.

What does a background check by an employment agency

normally entail? Is it a simple check for felonies,

or a credit check, or what? Just curious.

What does a background check usually entail?

The answer to your specific case is probably all of the above. Credit checks are now usually pretty standard for those companies that bother doing a background check. They may ask you for family and personal references and emplyment history. A firm large enough for a human resources department only needs a few phone calls to verify this.

The criminal check is more difficult if the client has to pull the information himself. Except for minors, these records are publicly available, but some needs to research all the jurisdictions involve, one by one. Agencies, such as in law enforcement can do a %26quot;live scan%26quot; fingerprint background check. A compoter scanner is used to capture a print, and is hooked up to a huge, inter-agency data base that is able to pull criminal records from all over the county.

All this labor and checks takes time and money. How complete a check depends on how much money your client wants to spend.

What does a background check usually entail?

Felony check.

What does a background check usually entail?

It usually starts with a rubber glove....just kiddin

(They) the human resources checks out your previous history on where you lived / where you worked / do you have any criminal record / a urine test (sometimes) depending apon the job you are applying for.

it could take anywhere from 1-week to 3-weeks.

What does a background check usually entail?

Depending on the complexity of the check, it could entail everything from county %26amp; state criminal records, SSN verification, address history, sexual offender registry, etc. It generally does not include credit checks, but could do.

However, the employer has to be FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) Certified, or get the info from someone who is, which requires employers to follow specific rules and regulation when accessing your data.

What does a background check usually entail?

A background check can involve checking your criminal record (if you have one) and sometimes even a credit check.

Even if you do have a slightly %26quot;colorful%26quot; background, it won%26#039;t neccessarily affect your hiring. Unless you%26#039;re a serial killing rapist who has stolen over $1Million worth of items, you%26#039;re fine.

What does a background check usually entail?

EVERYTHING, FELONIES AND CREDIT . MAINLY FELONIES

Who will give me a loan with low credit scores and not much equity in my home so i don't get a

A lender we are currently with wants payment in full for a loan that was to be repaid in 5 years and isn%26#039;t even 3 years yet. We missed a couple of payments when I lost my job 2 years ago and they turned us over to a law firm. Jan. 10,2007 I lost my job and now this lender wants their money because the payment was returned because I received my check late and is not useable right away. If we don%26#039;t pay the loan they are taking us to court and my husband%26#039;s check will be garnished and we will have a judgement on our record and I will have a hard time finding a job because the last employer did a credit check and most of them seem to be doing taht now. We first had until Jan.31 to pay but the financing fell through and they want the money now or they will begin filing court proceedings. I%26#039;m desparate for help. You might check Prosper.com Regular everyday people loan money to others with low credit scores. You enter a legal binding loan agreement like you would a bank. Your loan interest rate will depend on the amount of the loan and your credit rating. The lower your credit rating, the higher the loan.

Are there any secured credit cards in the th Uk that add to your credit rating?

Any that report to any of the three main credit check companys

Are there any secured credit cards in the th Uk that add to your credit rating?

All credir card companies use the big three

Are there any secured credit cards in the th Uk that add to your credit rating?

%26quot;secured%26quot; ? LOL.... Haaaa ha ha ha the very notion of a secure credit card !

If you want to sort out your credit rating, get in touch with experian, get your credit report and pay off all the stuff that got you a bad rating in the first place, then have all the defaults marked as %26quot;satisfied%26quot; give it six months and apply to a high street bank for a normal credit card.

Places like Providian, and capital One are crooks, only in it for thier proffit, not to %26quot;help restore%26quot; your rating.

Are there any secured credit cards in the th Uk that add to your credit rating?

I am not aware of any secured credit cards in the UK. However, aqua credit card and Vanquis Abacus Visa Card are easy to get with little or bad credit.

Are there any secured credit cards in the th Uk that add to your credit rating?

Do not get a vanquis card like someone previously suggested. I worked for them for them, and they rip people of so badly that I left for a month, seriously you would rather have a bad credit rating than have a card with them! Just pay things off and it will improve naturally, dont apply for anything for 6 months then get a high street bank credit card, that will improve it, certainly not vanquis, or any other sub prime lending company, they%26#039;re purposefully there to take your money and then the bosses drive into work it their 鎷?40000 aston martins.

Is it time to "upgrade" my credit cards???

I have 3 credit cards. Two are Visa Classic cards and one is a Best Buy card. I%26#039;ve had them since I was about 18. I%26#039;m 23 now and making a lot more money than I was then, but I also have a mortgage. Last time I ran a credit check, a negative was that I didn%26#039;t have enough premium cards. How do I go about getting more premium cards? Should I close my 2 Classic Visas and then apply for different credit cards or is there a way to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my current cards? TIA

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

First of all, whoever told you you didnt have enough premium cards is on crack. There%26#039;s no such thing-- the credit bureaus only know that your car is a %26quot;Washington Mutual Visa%26quot;, not whether or not is is a %26quot;platinum%26quot;.

Not to mention, many cards these days call their lowest cards platinum or preferred cards.

It may have told you that you dont have enough revolving debt or something like that, but it didn%26#039;t mean you needed %26quot;fancier%26quot; cards.

Closing your cards and opening new ones will actually ding you-- you want long term history.

Keep doing what you%26#039;re doing. Once you have a full 7 years history (and assuming you keep those balances low and payments on time) you%26#039;ll have top notch credit!

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

Amanda is correct. What you most likely saw was something along the lines of %26quot;Not enough revolving accounts%26quot; Pay no attention to this stuff. I look at credit all day long and you see this kind of verbiage on people that have perfect credit.

OK just read your comments. I don%26#039;t know what you read but in over 7-years of looking at credit reports I have never seen anything like what you describe. Like Amanda said the credit buresus have no way of knowing what type of card you have only how you have used it.

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

Call the two companies that you have your credit cards with and ask them to upgrade them.

I did that with mine not too long ago. In fact, I don%26#039;t know why I didn%26#039;t think of it long ago. I upgraded to a better card with cash back. All these years, I%26#039;d been spending money and getting no cash back on that card.

Be careful about opening and closing accounts. You would be better off credit score wise to keep the accounts you have but ask them to upgrade the cards.

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

A REAL credit report does not say you don%26#039;t have enough of ANYTHING. It is a REPORT not an analysis. Most of the %26#039;suggestions%26#039; attached to the last copy of my report I saw had NOTHING to do with what was on my report.

That said, I talked to a self-made millionaire last month. He carries a letter from one of the credit bureaus stating they can%26#039;t compute his credit score because he doesn%26#039;t have any open accounts on his credit report (aka, he%26#039;s debt free). There is NO SUCH thing as not enough %26#039;premium cards%26#039;.

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

Look, why don%26#039;t you consider the possibility that, especially since you have this newly fabulous income, it is time to learn to live on less than you make %26amp; stop using debt for ANYTHING?! Then you won%26#039;t need any kind of credit card or a credit score at all. I haven%26#039;t borrowed since 2002 %26amp; I never will again. That means, I do not care whether some little automated credit report website thinks I need more %26quot;premium%26quot; accounts. I don%26#039;t have ANY revolving accounts. They were paid off %26amp; closed years ago. On the other hand, I do have paid for cars, money saved for the next one, money for emergencies, investments %26amp; a clue where all my money went last month. I sincerely hope you will give it a try.

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

You need to check out %26quot;Credit Card Tune-Up%26quot; at http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/ .

It features a rewards calculator that will tell you which card or combination of cards will pay you the most rewards for your normal spending. It%26#039;s based on the idea that you pay off your balance each month so that you can just enjoy your credit cards%26#039; rewards. The tool will help you maximize your rewards from your normal spending.

Is it time to %26quot;upgrade%26quot; my credit cards???

First as other have said the Credit Reports have no idea if you have a Secured, Regular, or Premium type of card. The negative factors are an analysis that they try to do to give you an idea of what you need to work on. But depending on the suggestion it may have little to no effect. If they are talking about type of Credit that is a very small factor in credit scoring, the biggest factors are payment history and balances. If you have not already done so, get your Credit Score. If you are in the High 600%26#039;s or above you are in fine shape, above 700 and you are in Excellent shape and you really don%26#039;t have to worry.

Now, not really worrying about what the report said, here are some suggestions.

First don%26#039;t close out your current cards as that will hurt you even more as it lowers your available credit. You should always keep your total useage under 30% of your total available credit.

Call your credit companies and ask for a Credit Limit Increase, the worst they will say is No.

Don%26#039;t just go out and apply for dozens of cards at one time to try and get one. These will cause a lot of inquiries and will also kill your score. If you can find one or two apply for those.

How do I remove an error from my credit report?

nearly three years ago I was in a motorcycle wreck and wracked up a lot of medical bills. I paid all of my bills except the hospital bill which I filed bankruptsy on (I just didnt happen to have an extra 90 grand lying around). One of my doctor bills I was slow to pay on and it went to a debt collector by the time I had the money to pay it. Long story short I paid the debt collector for the bill but when I recently had a credit check run on me I was told that the bill was still on my credit report marked as unpaid. I was told to contact a credit agency and tell them it was paid but my question is; how do I contact a credit agency and make them fix the error on my report? Who do I call or where do I go?

How do I remove an error from my credit report?

Contact the original company you had the debt with. Get a letter from them stating your account is paid in full. Then, send that letter to all 3 major credit reporting bureaus.

How do I remove an error from my credit report?

When you paid it, you should have gotten written proof from the debt collector. Dig up the old checks and try to get the collector to give you written proof. If you don%26#039;t have written proof, provide the credit agency with your cancelled checks and any other written documentation you can provide. Hopefully you will have enough written from the debt collector to get your credit fixed.

How do I remove an error from my credit report?

There are three credit bureaus who report credit. You have the right to dispute under the equal credit opportunity act. You will first need to obtain you 3 credit reports and then make disputes with each bureau. Best Wishes...

I looked up my credit report online and it said my account was frozen? I haven't ever frozen an

I had lost my social security number back and 04%26#039; but didn%26#039;t take any action (and I don%26#039;t know if anyone found it.) So I did a credit check online and it said my account had been frozen, except I didn%26#039;t freeze an account? I%26#039;m unsure what this means, can someone help me out? I%26#039;m 19 and don%26#039;t have a credit card and I%26#039;m just concerned. Also, who can freeze an account? Would it have to be me or could someone else have done it? Thanks.

I looked up my credit report online and it said my account was frozen? I haven%26#039;t ever frozen anything.?

Freezing your account should only be done when identity theft is suspected. You can have that freeze taken out, all you need to do is contact all three credit reporting agencies, and send them proof of your identity and they will take the freeze out, and if you should find that you were the victim of identity theft you need to have your credit restored, also log in to www.bettercreditcontrol.com

I looked up my credit report online and it said my account was frozen? I haven%26#039;t ever frozen anything.?

Call or write the credit bureaus.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won't cash it, who

Either take it to the bank its from or go to walmart open a checking account at their bank (they don%26#039;t pull credit) and deposit the check. Might take a week or so.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

Great, every spammer on this board will be here offering you help.

BTW, that sounds like a load of codswallop to me. A bank cashes a check and then waits to see if it will clear, they can put a hold on it if they like. They won%26#039;t even let you open an account with it? Not any bank, anywhere? That doesn%26#039;t sound right.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

Sign it then let one of your family members deposit it to their account.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

Whichever bank the check is drawn off of is obligated to cash it for you. They may want to charge you for this service. It shouldn%26#039;t be much. You%26#039;ll want to provide identification and give them a couple days notice since it%26#039;s such a large amount. If you have a checking account somewhere I would highly reccommend taking it to your own bank and depositing it. They will probably put a hold on it so you won%26#039;t have immediate availability but it would be for the best.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

If you have a bankruptcy and horrible credit, a bank can still cash this check.

You might have to start a savings account but SO WHAT

open a savings account at your local bank and deposit this check.

If you have to wait a month to get at the money, who cares...it is not like this money was a paycheck.

consider it a blessing and use the time while waiting for it to clear to figure out how you are going to get your credit problems straightenedout.

Also

is the %26#039;check%26#039; from someone you know.

I know you said that it was an inheritence but alot of people on the interent are offering %26#039;inheritence%26#039; checks from people that were long lost relatives...these %26#039;checks%26#039; require immediate cashing and sending %26#039;taxes%26#039; to the sender.

Please do not fall for this.. if this is the case and the money is from someone you NEVER heard of

WAIT before you spend this money

your FREEDOM could depend on it

if this check turns out to be fake, your bad credit will be the least of your problems

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

First off, read www.fakechecks.org

Second, the bank it%26#039;s drawn on must cash it, it%26#039;s it%26#039;s legitimate. They have the signature card, they can verify it. Have you called them to verify it?

Second, your bank will deposit it and may hold it. Typically $100 will be available that day or next day. $5000 day after and the rest after 5 days.

Third, if you have no bank and you have no bank because you%26#039;re on chexsystems or another reporting agency there are banks that will still give you an account and process this for you but may extend the hold. WaMu(www.wamu.com) is one(but their customer service is horrible) If you live near Pittsburgh or Cleveland, Dollar Bank(www.dollarbank.com) is another. Wachovia is yet another. All three of these banks and almost any bank no matter what will require that you are on chexsystems simply for overdrafts you did not pay back and not for a security issue(fraud, kiting, abuse)

If you are on chexsystems for a security issue my suggestion would be to go to the bank its drawn on or try to open a short term cd. 1month - 3 months. Better to have the money in 3 months than wait for the check to stale date. and you%26#039;d earn some interest. Most banks don%26#039;t check chexsystems for Time Deposits

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

Some of the payday check cashing places also cash checks of all kinds. They often charge a fee though.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

Do you personally know the relative who died? This sounds like a scam.

If it is not a scam, DEPOSIT the check. No one will cash it. Deposit it into a savings account if you have to.

If it is a scam, it could take 6 months to bounce.... and in that case, if the money is not in your account, you can be arrested for fraud, and in all cases, there will be fee%26#039;s if it bounces.

I just received a inheritence check for $12,000.00. I have bad credit, Banks won%26#039;t cash it, who will?

If your bank won%26#039;t cash it, try the bank that the check is drawn on.

When you do a background check on someone, does it show on their credit report?

I%26#039;m just curious..

When you do a background check on someone, does it show on their credit report?

Yes, the names of all those requesting the reports is listed at the end of the report by date requested. It may not be the same for all 3 major services, Equifax, TransUnion(TRW) and Experian.

When you do a background check on someone, does it show on their credit report?

it doesn%26#039;t show anywhere

When you do a background check on someone, does it show on their credit report?

yes

When you do a background check on someone, does it show on their credit report?

Yes it does show on their credit report.

Will it hurt my credit score?

Will it hurt my credit score if I apply for three jobs a week for 26 weeks and each employer runs a credit check on me?

Will it hurt my credit score?

No. Credit checks by employers show up as %26quot;soft%26quot; inquiries. The only ones that affect your credit score are known as %26quot;hard%26quot; inquiries, the kind you get when you apply for a credit card or auto loan. The hard inquiries can hurt your score, but only by 2-3 points each, and after 6 months to a year they dont affect you at all.

Will it hurt my credit score?

I DONT THINK SO

Will it hurt my credit score?

Yes it can. Each time a credit report is ran on you it deducts points from your overall credit score.

Will it hurt my credit score?

I don%26#039;t think emplyment rejection or offer can affect your credit score, but I am not a hundred percent sure. Invastigate more on that and I believe you will find your perfect answer.

Will it hurt my credit score?

Yes, it can.

Everytime you conduct a credit check, the credit score will unfortunately decrease.

Army background check?

What kind of background check will I be subjected to in becoming a helicopter pilot in the Army? Obviously a criminal records check. But how about credit checks %26amp; taking a polygraph?

Army background check?

Credit checks are becoming more and more popular as a background check.

If you can%26#039;t manage your finances, what else can%26#039;t you manage??

Army background check?

I think they go deep deep down with the background check i think they check into your family and also your credit rating as far as a polygraph i am not sure but i know they want to know every little detail about you. Good luck in becoming a bird pilot...

Army background check?

I just enlisted, also wanting to fly. They do ask about your credit when you sign up, and I think they may even run a check. Criminal record checks for the military include any juvinile record, even though the policetell you they disappear. The biggest reason for the checks is not flying, it%26#039;s the security clearance that you have to have as a pilot. Good luck!

Army background check?

I%26#039;m sure it will be both criminal and credit checks. Both pertain to your character as a person. Also shows how responsible you are...being that you will be flying an aircraft worth over a million dollars. You will also need a Top Secret clearance. Good Luck!

Army background check?

1. Criminal background check!

2. Credit check!

3. Family background check!

4. Education Check!

5. Foreign travel within the last 5 years!

6. Any Work ethics!

7. Medical History Check! (Mental %26amp; Physical)

There are probably more, but I can%26#039;t remember them all!!

Army background check?

Yep, criminal background check.

A credit check as well.

You probably won%26#039;t ever see the polygraph machine, unless you get in trouble.

Suggestions to pass landlord credit test?

I lost my business due to Hurricane Katrina and my credit suffered. I have refinanced my car loan but did not file BK on some of the stuff. Now, my landlord has decided to sell my rented home and I cant seem to get a new landlord to talk to me after the credit check. I gotta move! I have the money for first and last but cant get that far! Suggestions?

Suggestions to pass landlord credit test?

Typically it looks really bad if you can%26#039;t find a co-signer. Even with your situation, it seems that you have no accountability. I suggest getting a renal reference letter form your current landlord, so you%26#039;re prospective landlord can see that you have a history of paying your rent on time. With my tenants, I require a co-signer or deposit equaling 2 months of rent, so if I have to evict them, it won%26#039;t be too costly.

Suggestions to pass landlord credit test?

a co-signer?

Suggestions to pass landlord credit test?

Thank you for your answer to my question about the repo laws and I was threatened with more than just the police, I was threatened with the fbi and some kinda interstate patrol thing related to repoing vehicles. As far as your situation goes, I would suggest finding a place like I have that is CREDIT FRIENDLY, and go from there. Those kinda places which are mostly apartments will not base anything on credit but still look at it to see what deal they can work out for you. I hope this helps out and have a great day.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

Hi there i have a very bad credit history and i was wondering if it was possible to be put on my mums credit card as an additional cardholder. Supposedly all my mum does is fills out my details on an application form and i sign it and gets sent away just to add my name onto it. Supposedly it doesnt matter about my credit history as they continue to base this on the conduct of my mums account as she is the actual account holder and she would be responsible if i ran up debt i.e. it would be up to my mum to determine whether or not i am a trustworthy person. I was trying to find any links on google that explain how the additional cardholder works. Someone did say that if my mum was to default with her payments then it would affect me. Let me know what you think.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

yes

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

No they won%26#039;t do a credit check on you. But just remember that your mom is responsible for paying back anything you spend on that card.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

As your Mum would be the account holder all queries (non payment etc) would be her issue... If she has been a good customer for a long while, and with her agreement, I don%26#039;t think a credit check would be needed..must say this is only my thoughts on this.. Who knows?

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

I think that as long as it is under your mom%26#039;s name, then there should not be a problem being added, assuming your mom approves if first of course.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

Yes no company will give you credit without checking your history they will want to know your name date of birth address work history etc.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

No, they cannot do a credit check for an %26quot;Authorized User%26quot; account without permission of the to-be-%26quot;Authorized User%26quot;.

And this would help your credit score - for now. However when the new FICO 08 scores come into use in the near future, authorized user accounts will no longer be considered in the scoring. So you will be back to square one.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

It depends on if you would be joint on the account or just an authorized user. I doubt the credit card company would do a credit inquiry on you in either case.

If you are made joint, then you would be held responsible for the payments just as you mother. The card would be listed and affect both of your credit scores.

If you are just an authorized user, you would not be held responsible for payments. Only your mother would be the liable. The card might appear on your credit report but would not be counted in your credit score (the rules changed).

Instead of asking your mother to put her credit at risk, why don%26#039;t you work on cleaning up your bad credit history.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

You can add your dog as an additional cardholder (not to be confused with joint account) ....yes its up to your mom to trust you, and if you mess up your being mean to her

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

Yes, some credit card companies do check all authorized persons on the card.

Legally, the card holder is responsible for the bill, however, it is possible that if the card holder defaults on their financial obligations the credit card company can litigate on alternate authorized signatures that have actively used the card.

Do credit card companies do credit checks for additional cardholders??

They always check the credit history for additional cardholders.

H&R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit Qualifications??

Im interested in doing the H%26amp;R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit, and am wondering what the qualifications are to receive it?? All H%26amp;R Block%26#039;s website says is that you have to have filed your return with them for the 2005 or 2006 tax season, but doesn%26#039;t list any other specific qualifications. It says no credit check so what exactly do they base their decision on? We have filed every year with H%26amp;R Block since 1999 %26amp; have an Emerald card from last year%26#039;s tax return. Thanks in advance for your help!

H%26amp;R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit Qualifications??

for the emerald advance there are three basic requirements-you have to have done you taxes with hr block before, you have to have a current paystub or w2 (also a picture ID, but that%26#039;s a given), and owe no debt to hr block (also a given)

for the income requirements-must have 10,000.00 (or more) in yearly income, plus be expecting a 1000.00 refund.

good things about the loan-it is actually a line of credit which you can use again and again without paying renewal fees.

it comes with on a card which you can use if you want to as a checking acct.(direct deposit available)

bad things- a line of credit is still a loan, and I have no word on the interest rate(I%26#039;m quoted 9-36 percent.). also the card has all sorts of rules-if you follow the rules you%26#039;re gold, but if you don%26#039;t they%26#039;ll stick ya- you know %26quot;terms and conditions%26quot; apply etc.

It looks like it could be a good product, if you use it wisely.

H%26amp;R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit Qualifications??

Chances are, you are eligible, I mean, if you have already used there emerald advance before.

H%26amp;R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit Qualifications??

since u used them since 1999, that pretty much qualifies u there. also, they will want ur last paystub of the year. they will use that to guestimate how much u will get back in ur federal refund. however, the line of credit is due to be paid no matter what. it just kinda gives them reassurance that u will get back at least that much in your tax return so they know u can pay it off.

H%26amp;R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit Qualifications??

You need a pay stub showing over $10,000 income for the year, current picture ID and a estimated refund of at least $1000.

I understand as of yesterday they have changed the requirement of being a client in one of last two years to being a client in the last 4 years.

If you are married each spouse can apply for the LOC even if only one has income.

What is the best web site to check your new tenants background rental history and credit?

I%26#039;ve always recommended having the tenants obtain their own credit report and share it with you. Obviously it must be a recent version. It costs you nothing, allows them to see the same information you see to qualify them, and if they fail to qualify for your rental they can carry it to the next landlord for screening.

References are best when obtained from a former landlord who is NOT a relative of the applicant, or professional property manager. It is generally best to get a reference from a FORMER landlord rather than their current one, since the current landlord may say positive things to get them out of his unit even if he%26#039;s having a bad experience.

Other than that, there are businesses such as National Tenant Network that will provide (for a fee of course) screening information of the type you seek. They also have an in-house reporting vehicle of sorts that allows member landlords to share information on tenants.

Carefully selecting a tenant who has demonstrated personal responsibility with their other financial business and has good rental references is the smartest thing any landlord can do to avoid loss.

What is the best web site to check your new tenants background rental history and credit?

i doubt that you%26#039;ll find anyone%26#039;s rental history online. ask for a phone number of their current landlord - you typically have to pay for a credit report - try Experian or TRW

What is the best web site to check your new tenants background rental history and credit?

Have them sign a waiver that allows you to run a credit check. Most often the applicant (tenant) pays the fee for the credit check.

They should also complete an application that includes their jobs (so you cna verify employment and their ability to pay the rent) as well as a chronological rental history of up to 10 years. No skipped years allowed without verifiable explaination. And then call/verify that history. Again, you are allowed to pay a non-refundable fee for the %26#039;application fee%26#039; that will cover your time and effort in doing the checks.

However - it sounds like you have tenants and they are already moved in. Unless they signed a rental agreement that stipulated that your approval of the credit check and applicaiton is required for them to stay, you%26#039;ll have little recourse if they turn out to be %26#039;bad%26#039; tenants. ..... Be very careful taking tenants. The eviction process is long and arduous.

good luck.

What is the best web site to check your new tenants background rental history and credit?

You can find %26quot;Five Essential Tips on How to Do a Proper Tenant Background Check%26quot; here:

http://backgroundsearch.com/KWitems/KWne...

You can perform a free background check.

Like many answers, it all depends on the details:

What information do you want?

How much work are you willing to do to get it?

How fast do you want it?

If you are willing to do some work yourself, you can perform a background check on someone for free.

Criminal Background Check:

Criminal records are kept by the Clerk of Courts in each courthouse. Every city, town, county, state, and the federal government have their own courthouses. We know there are 50 states, 3000 counties, and over 30,000 cities, towns, or townships in the USA. That is a lot of courthouses, and most of them do not share their information. However, it is all public information, and you are allowed to review it.

If you know where the subject person has lived and traveled, then you know which courthouse records to check.

Do-it-Yourself Free Background check issues:

a)One problem is finding out your subject-persons lifetime travel history. He could have committed a crime anywhere he has ever been.

b)2nd problem is the amount of work you must do to check every courthouse in those locations.

c)3rd problem is that you could miss important records if you miss any of the locations that your subject-person has been to.

d)4th problem is cost. If the courthouse has digitized their records and published them on a website, then you can often review them for free. But if you must travel to the courthouse, that requires your time and travel costs. Finally, if you get copy of the record, some courthouses charge $1 per page. Wow! That can be expensive.

e)So a do-it-yourself background check may cost you a significant amount of money if you want to perform a complete background check.

Other Records:

You will probably want to check out some other records on you subject-person.

Do your want to know about:

Marriages and Divorces

Bankruptcies

Tax liens

Civil law suits

Professional licenses

Corporate ownership

Property ownership.

All of that information is public, and you can review it. But, you have the same issues that you had with the Criminal Records. The information is not all in one place. You have to find out where it is, and you may have to travel to those locations.

Information Aggregators

On the internet, some companies specialize in collecting all of this public information, putting it in their database, and making it available for instant access. For example, Illinois Youth Soccer (http://www.iysa.org) has a Risk Management publication that refers to http://backgroundsearch.com .

You can review some of this information for free and get the results immediately on the internet.

How to Perform a Do-It-Yourself Free Background Search %26amp; Check:

Step #1 閳?At an information aggregator, like BackgroundSearch.com , you can put in your subject-person閳ユ獨 name and find every city that he lived-in. That website provides this information for free. You can enter as many names as you like, as many times as you like. Now you know which courthouse records to review.

Step #2 閳?At the same website, you can find a list of the Criminal Record Offices of every city, county, and state in the USA, along with their website (as reported to the U.S. government.).

Step #3.- Go to the courthouse website, or to the courthouse (if they do not have a website), and review their public records.

Step #4 閳?Back at BackgroundSearch.com, you can find the Record Offices for Vital Records (Marriage, Divorce, Births, Deaths). Repeat step #3 for Vital Records and any other type of records that you need.

Purchasing a Background Check:
