Are credit checks made by employers on job applicants discriminatory?

Are they discriminatory to those applicants who do not have a need for credit at the time and have no outstanding debts, yet have no current credit rating?

Discriminatory as in illegal, no.

An employer can base decisions on the credit history of an applicant. For an accounting, finance type job I wouldn%26#039;t do it any other way.

Employers are looking for poor credit, so if you have none then you should be fine....
