My husband and I are getting stationed there and both have very poor credit.

I would be wary of such complexes and the type of people living there.

If your credit is poor, be upfront about it with the management. Get some references from your current landlord and your current job. If you do know any prominent people (yours or or husband%26#039;s superiors, for example) ask them for letters of recommendation.

Be honest and upfront with potential landlords... and be prepared to pay a good sized deposit. I have two houses that I rent out - and if the credit report is lousy, I ask for two months rent as down payment and first month%26#039;s rent UPFRONT. (Sorry, they%26#039;re both currently occupied.)

This is California, tho - you%26#039;re gonna pay thru the nose for everything. Good luck - and be prepared to stay in the Navy Lodge for a bit.
