Credit checks????

Why do credit agencies such as Experian only ask for your addresses over the last six years?

Credit checks????

Actually, they ask you to provide your previous address if your current one has changed in the previous 2 years. If your current address is relatively new and they do not have it on their file they cannot verify your identity and thus cannot provide you with information in regards with your credit profile (to avoid identity fraud and preserve your privacy).

Generally, reporting agencies are not entitled to have your address on their file anyway and you can remove any address at any time from your credit profile.

because that is the approximate amount of time that is relevant to your application . in the situation of bankrupcy one would be afforded a clearing of thier scoring after that period of time . the credit providers are happy to base their lending on a back dated view of 6 years to assertain the chance of regular repayment . people obviously change in their spending habits and a person that may have had some defults in the past is no longer subject to penalisation of this fact after 6 years .hence they only ask for a 6 year span of previouse addresses .

Credit checks????

Information on credit reports typically runs with a seven year limit. If you close a credit card account, it will not drop off your report until seven years after you%26#039;ve clsoed it. Anything beyond that is no longer relevant.
