usually there%26#039;s a number you can call to report a stolen/lost card, so they can cancel it and give you a new one. I would recommend explaining to them the time and place you lost it, so the credit card company can check for you if there have been any purchases made after that point.
edit: the number can be found on the credit card%26#039;s website, or in my case, it%26#039;s on my bank statements I get in the mail

Once you verify the personal information (Mother%26#039;s maiden name, SSN, etc) they will be able to cancel your account. You need not know the account number.
